Program Description

Spain is a country on Europe’s Iberian Peninsula, bordered by France, Portugal, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Atlantic Ocean. With its stone castles, monuments, snow-capped mountains, and sophisticated cities, Spain is well-known for its geographic and cultural diversity. In this field experience, students will engage in a shadowing experience in Valladolid hospitals and clinics. An excursion to Madrid, cultural immersion experiences, cultural experiences led by the Atlantis Project and explorations of Valladolid and Toledo have been planned.

This field experience is best suited to students planning to enter health-related professions. During the two-week field experience in Valladolid, student will engage in shadowing European health professionals 6 to 8 hours per day in a variety of medical fields and in different parts of a hospital. Teaching English to medical professionals will be offered as optional community service.
